Jamhour hit / Lebanese Army Responds

July 17, 2006 · 14 Comments

Jamhour power plant hit. The Israelis “warned” HezbAllah that if it attacked they would target it. But HezbAllah was not doing much today, and Israel was still targeting civilians and facilities - or what remained of the latter at any rate. Ohh, that hurt HezbAllah a lot! Yeah, didn’t you know? Rocket launchers are hooked up to the Jamhour power plant……

Israeli F-16 (or helicopter) reportedly downed over Beirut by Lebanese Army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have replays and so far we know that something has been hit, it hasn’t been confirmed whether it’s F-16 or helicopter yet. More soon!

Update @ 3:08 pm: 3-story building in Haifa takes direct hit, collapses!

Update @ 4:05 pm: Lebanese Army has not yet confirmed what it was. The media has been acting hysterically. There have been more than a dozen different reports, some say it was a plane and it’s confirmed others say it wasn’t, others say it was a drone “balloon”, and still others say it was a fuel tank. More coming soon.

Update @ 5:31 pm: Haifa port closed due to rocket fire. Al-Manar TV airing clips of “Haifa … the hour of your suicide has come.” No further news on the object that was shot down.

Haifa under continuous rocket barrage. Many injuries.

“Nahnu zahibuna ila Haifa, wa ila ma ba’da Haifa, wa ila ma ba’da ba’da Haifa.”

Enough is enough!

Update @ 6:49 pm: A while ago I updated my blog with news of an Israeli border guard kidnapped, but I removed it since it was not on any Israeli media. Yediot Achronot has just reported that Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade has announced they have abducted an Israeli border guard. No confirmation of the validity of the claim yet.

Update @ 6:57 pm: Israeli drone downed over Bekaa.

“Confirmed!!! F-16 indeed downed!! We saw a rocket being launched, then a plane spiralling down and hitting the ground. Israeli jets quickly bombed the place the jet fell, to cover traces.” -
The Israeli press & Army denies it. Hopefully it’s not the case.

“Nahnu zahibuna ila Haifa, wa ila ma ba’da Haifa, wa ila ma ba’da ba’da Haifa.” - What’s the translation.

“We’re going to Haifa, to beyond Haifa, and to beyond beyond Haifa.”

It wasnt a plane, by the way. I know its hard but try to stay rational and critical. Nothing was confirmed.

Mohamed - the media has been acting hysterical. Some confirmed others refuted, some withdrew their confirmation, some haven’t.

So far there is no information on what it was.

Yeah, Ive been watching Al-jazeera and the LBC. Well, i was hoping its a plane - one less plane to drop bombs on peoples heads. We’ll see what happens.
I’ll still maintain that you have to continue being clear-minded. I enjoy reading your posts, but I do believe your earlier ones were more rational and thought out. Hell, I dont know what im saying, bombs are raining up there … but … hey, I dont know what to say, apart from that if we dont have any clear minds nothings going to work out. I dont mean anything bad or offensive so do don’t take it that way if you do, sorry. My impressions could also be wrong.
    Stay safe.

It’s cool, I welcome criticism that’s constructive. :) I’ve been trying hard not to get into this state of mind, well, to get out of it really because I already am in it, but the continuous Israeli aggressions have been taking me back 10 steps each time I start to think with a clear mind.

I have close sources in Tayyar that are saying that civil defence said there is an unidentified body that looks like a pilot. The Israelis bombed the place after the hit, I think a plane did indeed fall (no one can deny that a rocket was indeed launched) but the Israelis had to make sure that it would not be used in the psychological warfare to cause panic in Israel.

We’re sitting here in Sweden waiting eagerly for the next surprise attack by Hizbollah…
People are yearning for more heroic resitance; be confident we’re shouting Hizbollah ya habib
    - uthrob uthrob Tel Aviv from the shores here in Stockholm, across all the waters, to you down
there…keep up the spirit guys. We will prevail.
Direct actions against the Israeli embassy, the Swedish foreign ministry and other targets
here everyday. Mass demo coming up.
    Nasrallah in our hearts.

“Direct actions against the Israeli embassy, the Swedish foreign ministry and other targets
here everyday. Mass demo coming up.” - Are you suggesting that you guys are planning an attack on Israeli targets?

  • Ibn Amalie // July 17, 2006 at 9:51 pm

Unfortunately we have to use means adapted to the political situation in Sweden…That is,
    direct actions only, no guns…

  • Anarchistian // July 17, 2006 at 10:25 pm

Abas, direct action = civil disobedience.
